CERTIFICATION REVIEW COURSE
The Lehigh Valley Chapter is proud to announce the availability of the CPIM review course for Execution and Control of Operations. The subject matter of ECO encompasses the principles, practices, and techniques needed to schedule, control, measure,and evaluate the effectiveness of operations. It provides feedback about how well plans are being executed and provides information for customers and suppliers about the status of work in process (WIP). The importance and emphasis of the principles, approaches, and techniques addressed are relative to the production environment, the labor environment, and the physical organization of the plant, brought about through effective people management and leadership.
The ECO module will span 9 sessions and is divided into three major areas:
1. Prioritizing and sequencing work to be performed.
2. Executing plans, implementing physical controls, and reporting results of activities performed.
3. Performance reporting and feedback.
Instructor
James Ciliberti
Jim is an instructor for the chapter and has taught at Moravian College as an adjunct professor and is certified by APICS as a CPIM. He is a graduate of King’s College and was formerly a Materials Planner for Alcan Packaging of Washington, NJ.
Jim will teach this course which spans 9 sessions. The first class will be held on Friday June 6, 2008 and begin at 9:00AM and end at 12:00PM. The classes will be held on successive Friday mornings with exception of July 3, 2008. Classes will end on August 8, 2008 with a 2 hour review.
Location
The classes will be held at the Kraft Foods Inc. facility located at 2202 North Irving Street Allentown, PA. The room is located on the first floor. Directions will be available at the front desk The chapter needs to emphasize that this class will be limited to 20 students and acceptance will be on a first come first served basis.
